At the beginning of the year I was approached by Soroptimist of Jackson Hole about sponsoring and designing a bra for one of their largest benefits called Bras For A Cause.
This benefit has been going on for the past 13 years in Jackson Hole and has raised over $500,000 and auctioned off 300 designed bras! The money raised has gone to help women battling cancer in this amazing small community. This event pulls together different businesses to sponsor and design bras for the live auction, donate items for the silent auction and incredible models donate their time to make this event the spectacular show that it is today. The event culminates into an exciting fashion show and live auction where we auction off the bras to the highest bidder.
I was happy to be involved and my wife being a Soroptimist member knew what needed to be done to pull off a bra design. She pulled her ideas together to create the bra for Paint With Gunpowder and the final decision was the bra would have bullets be apart of the design somehow.
Over 500 bullet casings later, LED lights and some Mad Max scary shoulder pads the bra was packing some serious weight. After hours of hard work the bra was finally finished and ready for it's model, Miss Augusta Friendsmith a.k.a Gus.
Normally the bras for the current year are not released to the public until the night of the event but this year the ladies decided to release one bra to get people excited for the evening.
I am proud to present the Paint With Gunpowder bra called "Bang Bang" and it will be paired with a kickass package!
The Paint With Gunpowder bra package's total value is $1355 and includes Dinner for 2 at Local/Trio, One Year Family Membership to the JH Gun Club, Shotgun Clay Card for use at the 5-stand and Trap Range, Round of Golf for 4 with Cart at Snake River Sporting Club and 2 Trail Rides at Snake River Sporting Club. Who ever is the highest bidder for this bra will be taking home some fun activities for them to share with their friends. Maybe it will even come close to the record highest bid of $6,800 back in 2014! All we can do it hope!
Bras For A Cause happens on the Saturday evening before Mother's Day each year and this year's theme is Bras Royale, a fun spin off from none other than James Bond.
This year the event is on May 12th and will take place at the infamous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. I will be there sitting at a VIP table supporting these amazing ladies and their incredible benefit. Where will you be?
